You gotta know the right questions...

and answers! Yesterday, I realized that there are ramifications to not having kids with me on a regular basis. One being that you don't always have the right answers for the "order taker guy" at the McDonald's drive through. Annie's son, J, arrived at ScrapIt! after school...and was "ssstttttttttaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrving" (say this word in your best pitiful voice while holding onto your growling tummy). He politely asked if I would go get him a "McDonald's with chocolate milk" which I took to mean a happy meal. How can you resist a face like that when he asks so very nicely?!??!! So I went. This is where things began to go desperately wrong. After waiting what seemed like a VERY long time in the drive through line (don't they have timers or something to keep things moving?) it was my turn to talk to the "order taker guy." I very confidently said, "I want a Happy Meal with chicken mcnuggets (not even sure that i

Hello friends and family: Wanted to share a couple of layouts with you. I had so much fun this weekend....scrapping with wonderful friends at ScrapIt on Saturday....an all day crop! I think I enjoyed the talking with my girlfriends almost as much as scrapping! Being with women friends is something that I have discovered is really a hugely important part of my life. It keeps balance that I desperately need. Then, on Sunday, my friend, Chelle, and her husband, Greg, invited me to go to the theater with them...it was Tom Bosley and Michaele Learned in On Golden Pond down at the TPAC theater. Lovely, lovely story. I must admit that I wasn't sure that I would enjoy it as much as the movie because Katherine Hepburn and Peter Fonda are hard to top -- but honestly, Tom and Michaele did a fantastic job...it was perfect. I enjoyed going for coffee/chai/hot chocolate afterwards and talking with both Chelle and Greg. I felt so grown up...theater and adult conversation! Just another st

Playing with Photoshop

Image
Ok...jann has been having fun with Photoshop this afternoon. I started with my original and then did what they called a "GOTHIC GLOW" through the actions pallet....then I did a "BABYLENS BLUR" on the third one. Really needed it for a project at work...but figured as long as I was in the "learning process I would try it out on me. Hope you all are having a good week. I am accomplishing a lot -- which is a blessing. I have been to an endocrinologist this week and am beginning to work on the migraine situation. He is leaving the insomnia problem til later since I can take sleeping meds and get a good night sleep occasionally. He did also find out that I am anemic (sp?) and have a low immune (white blood cells and T-cells) count....however he was quick to assure me that this doesn't mean I have AIDS...I don't....just am exhausted and worn out -- probably from all of the not sleeping and stress of the past few months. It somewhat validated the fact that I

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

I have to confess that I have the Christmas bug. It has come a little later this year...usually I get it about July. I want to start hearing Christmas Carols...I REALLY want to start decorating my house...and ALL because the Pottery Barn "holiday issue" arrived on my doorstep. *sheesh* Do you think the little goblins and super heros would notice that I didn't have any pumpkins or scarecrows out? Would they think that the holly and pomagranets were a new form of fall decorating? I can't tell you how bad I want some garland up? I even have the bug to buy only Christmas scrapbook paper...and I don't even have pictures from this year to scrapbook...clearly I am going to have to do some "home decor" scrapbooking projects and soon! And I don't care what people say -- I am putting white lights up in my house...probably this weekend. Ok...just a little more insight to my crazy mind. Have I mentioned that I LOVE Christmas...and would keep my house dec

Yikes.....You little stinker!

To date, I have managed to never get "'tagged" (ok, I got tagged in the 6th grade and was "it" whatever "it" is -- but that doesn't count) -- however, Sherri got me on her blog -- so now you all get to learn my bizarre secret answers to these questions. 1. If you could build a house anywhere, where would it be? On a 4-5 acre piece of land with LOTS of trees, an old barn and water of some sort running through it...anybody know where this is? 2. What's your favorite article of clothing? Hmmmmmmmm -- to wear out in public it would be my new "hoochie momma" outfit -- looks like "boho chic" scrapbook paper with sparkles. At home....jammies 3. Favorite physical feature of the opposite sex? definitely eyes and hands 4. What's the last cd you bought? I can't even remember -- I download stuff from iTunes all the time...latest complete download was a Nanci Griffith CD...man I love her old stuff....."Once in a very blue mo

Bad blogger....baaaaaaaaad!

Ok...I admit it...I am a bad blogger. You think no one will notice...but they do! It is kind of like when you wear a shirt that just isn't quite the same color of brown that your pants are and you fool yourself into thinking they won't see...or notice...but dang if they don't! It is one of those mixed blessings. You kinda think, "wow -- cool -- people pay attention to me!" and then there is the other side...."wow -- stink -- people pay attention to me and I can't get away with anything!" Oh well...to all who have noticed and mentioned...thanks for caring....and I will now oblige you with tales of my life. A few moments in review-- 1. Last night Royce came over while I had the TV on watching the "Miami Ink" marathon. His jaw dropped and he said, "well -- it took almost eight years but this is the first time you did something that I would never have guessed you would do...you actually LIKE that show?!?" To which I replied, "yes
